API Tester

Summary

Coppersys is seeking a detail-oriented API Tester with strong problem-solving ability to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of backend services. You will be responsible for examining all aspects of application functionality and contributing to continuous quality improvements.

Responsibilities

As an API Tester, you will collaborate closely with Business and Development teams to analyze requirements, draft test cases, and validate backend services. You will also support test strategy in an Agile environment.

Duties

• Review software requirements and prepare test scenarios
• Execute tests on APIs and backend services
• Analyze test results, errors, and bugs
• Develop and maintain test scripts
• Ensure compliance with quality standards
• Create logs to document testing phases and defects
• Collaborate with teams to develop effective test strategies
• Report bugs and errors to development teams
• Design and execute manual and automated API test cases
• Validate system functionality, performance, and reliability
• Identify and track defects using tools like Azure DevOps
• Perform regression and integration testing
• Support production deployments
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (DSU, sprint planning, retrospectives)

Requirements

• 5+ years of QA / API testing experience
• Hands-on experience with Postman and REST APIs
• Strong SQL skills for backend validation
• Understanding of JSON, HTTP methods, and API workflows
• Experience with defect tracking tools (JIRA / Azure DevOps)
• Knowledge of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies
• Experience with automation testing is a plus
• Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
